DESCRIPTION:This is a Woodlin school event\, and not a PTA event. \nWHAT: Back-to-School Night\, hosted by Woodlin to discuss curriculum and instructional issues. This event is for parents/guardians only. \nWHERE:  Woodlin at Grosvenor Center\, 5701 Grosvenor Lane\, Bethesda MD 20814.  \nMeet on the black top outside at the rear of the school. After the initial welcome presentation\, you will go to your child’s classroom for teacher presentations. \nWHEN: 6:00-8:00pm. Here is the tentative schedule for the night: \n\n6:00-6:30pm  Meeting begins with full staff and community on the black top.\n6:30-6:40pm  Transition to teacher classrooms for teacher lead presentations.\n6:45-7:20pm  Teacher lead presentation session 1\n7:25-7:50pm  Teacher lead presentation session 2\n7:50-8:00pm  Clear building\n\nThe two sessions of teacher presentations cover the same material – they are being held so that families with more than one child at Woodlin have the opportunity to go to both classes\, and for parents who arrive later to still make it. Mr. Jackson mentioned at the PTA meeting that teachers will focus mainly on the first session and anticipate that the second session will be more sparsely attended and perhaps more casual. Mr. Jackson also mentioned that 5th grade presentations will most likely take place in the All Purpose Room\, so if you arrive late\, check there before heading to the trailers. \nFor those who cannot make it\, the presentation slides will be made available on the Woodlin school website (not the PTA website). \nThis is a great opportunity to visit the school and hear from your child’s teacher about instructional plans for the year and to ask questions. The PTA also will have a table with information and some spirit gear on sale. \nWe hope you can make it\, and a big thank you to the teachers and school for hosting this event!

Starting at 3:30 PM\, we will beautify our school with some plants and flowers in the front beds of W@G and each student will create their own planting to take home. The celebration will then feature a show by Blue Sky Puppet Theater at 4:45 PM in W@G’s all-purpose room highlighting the 6 Rs: Recycle\, Reuse\, Reduce\, Repair\, Respect\, Responsibility… and what children can do! The puppet show is appropriate for preschoolers – 5th graders. Come when you can and help us celebrate a belated Earth Day!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Woodlin’s annual PTA-sponsored movie night event! \nThis outdoor event will take place on Friday evening\, October 8. (Rain date: October 9.) \nWe’ll project a full-length movie – Raya and the Last Dragon – on a giant screen behind the school. Bring blankets or chairs to make yourself comfortable. We ask families to follow all social distancing and mask requirements to keep this event safe and fun for our whole school community. \nFood trucks will be selling food on the blacktop behind the school\, so come hungry. Food sales start at 6:30; movie starts at 7:00. \nThis event is free of charge\, though donations to the PTA to offset the cost are always welcome.
