Seeking Earth Day Volunteers
Earth Day (Saturday, April 22) fast approaches, and Woodlin PTA is planning a great family event at Grosvenor! We’re looking for a few parents interested in helping pull all the pieces together.
This is a great opportunity to dip your foot into what putting a PTA event together looks like with relatively minimal commitment. Please contact joanna[at]portgood[dot]org if you are interested and able to help.
Geo Bee is Back
Every 3rd, 4th, and 5th grader may voluntarily get a packet at school to prepare. All the info needed to compete is in the packet. Complete the packet to learn about our state and country and win prizes. Prizes are awarded for completing a packet and competing in the Bee. Details are on https://woodlinpta.org/geography-bee/.
PTA’s Seedling Fundraiser Announced
The Woodlin PTA 2023 Spring Seedling Sale takes place from Jan. 27- Feb .12. The Woodlin ES PTA is trying this new fundraiser with NextGenTreesUSA.
This is a great opportunity to connect children with nature by planting native trees, help reforest our community’s next generation of trees, and raise funds for PTA programs.
- Seedlings are $10 each, and about 65% of proceeds return to our PTA.
- Go to our school link to buy as many native trees (Northern Red Oak or Red Mulberry) as you wish.
- We’ll contact you in March-April when your seedlings are ready for pick up. (Pick up is TBD and will be somewhere central in our community.)
Information is in this flyer (pdf).

Thanks for a Great Dash!
Friday, October 21, was a great day for the Dash of the Runaway Wizards! The kids ran, the teachers joined and encouraged them, and families came out to cheer and volunteer! Together, we’ve raised almost $34,000 for the Woodlin PTA.
These funds allow us to host assemblies and artist residencies like Beech Tree Puppets, provide teacher and grade-level funds, and hold fun community-building events like Movie Night and the upcoming Outdoor Family Dance on Saturday, November 12th. We’re working on plans for an amazing Earth Day celebration, STEM Day, and a wonderful Spring Fair in May. All of your contributions large and small make these things possible.
Thank you
